Ica & Kostika is a digital fashion brand focused on 3D printed footwear. To own one of their shoes, all you need to do is buy the 3D file. From there, the choice is yours. Should you decide to 3D print them, or use them in a render, it doesn’t matter! You have all the control. This new medium for fashion inspired me to find a unique way to showcase their visual identity.
Right off the bat, I knew I could take the brand in three different aesthetic directions: edgy, industrial, or fantastical. I wrestled with the 3 concepts for a while and decided to make logos for each. Ultimately, I decided the organic forms of the shoes were best reflected by fantasy and natural elements, and thus my journey into realms unknown began...
Customers crave tangibility, and even though these shoes are digital, that tangible connection between customer and product will always be important. This is why I created a "Digital Temple" for the brand that customers could navigate on their website. It creates an illusion of tangibility that you don’t get with the shoes and emphasizes the transcendental nature of their designs. It fosters a one of a kind connection for every customer that visits their website. Additionally, if a shoe were to be purchased, a custom USB drive beautifully designed by Ica & Kostika containing the 3D file would materialize in your mailbox, thus providing a physical token of authenticity for the product.
