One of the most beautiful and important sanctuaries for arthouse cinema in Montreal deserves the spotlight by means of a redesign. As one of my favourite spots in the city, I took it upon myself to redesign their website with the goal of highlighting its importance to the culture, giving it a facelift, and making it easier to navigate.
The main focus was to restructure the website to showcase the importance of supporting local arthouse cinemas. While access to tickets should be immediate and easy, by reformatting it with this focus it would shine a light on why this business needs our support (in light of the pandemic especially).
My biggest challenge was to find a way to restructure the website without confusing the users who are used to the original. After reworking the structure with much care, the visual upgrade came naturally. I’m happy to say the final product is a breeze to use, less cluttered, and feels more respectful to the work that the good folks at Cinéma du Parc do day in and day out.
